Ford and Valentine Pens of the 1930s
Both Valentine Pen Co and TB Ford can trace their ancestry back to before 1860, but it wasn't until 1929/30 that they entered the field of fountain pen manufacture. Both firms marketed pens during the 1930s that today are regarded as classics and this book features scores of pens from this decade, now known by collectors as the 'Golden Years'. Two hundred Valentine and Ford pens from this era are pictured, as are dozens of advertisements, price lists and patents. Details of the inventor of Ford's Patent Pen and the early Valentine models are also provided.
Valentine were notable for producing own-brand pens, particularly for export, while
TB Ford were renowned for their unusual, but very successful, range of large ink-capacity pens that started the craze for ink-visibility. Both makes are very collectable today, making this book an
ideal reference source.
