Jewel Pen Co: 1884 - 1951

One of the early English London-based fountain pen pioneers, Jewel Pen Co are today relatively unknown amongst pen collectors. This book helps to set the record straight by setting out the firm's history and featuring around 120 examples of the pens and stylos (and a few pencils) that Jewel made and marketed during their almost 70 years of existence.

Through growth, both organic and by acquisition, Jewel were one of the leaders in the lower price bracket of pens and, with extensive advertising, commanded a strong position in this sector of the market, particularly during the years before and after the Great War. Their foremost brand names include Jewel, Calton, Caltonian, Oma and Red Giant.
